Beginner Live Patient Implant Surgery (L104)

This course is designed for the General Dentist who is interested in learning more about basic surgical principles and protocols to initiate the process of placing implants. The goal is to empower dentists with the knowledge and confidence necessary to start a simple dental implant practice. After this course, participants should be able to develop their own protocol for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, surgical placement, and prosthetic restoration of single-tooth posterior implants. This immersive course includes lecture, typodont hands-on, live patient surgery observation, and live patient surgery hands-on experience. Participants will place 1-3 implants in live patient surgery.


LEARNING OBJECTIVES



  •  Gain knowledge and understanding in surgical implant placement, using a detailed and methodical approach that will allow dentists to start surgical procedures in their own practice 

  • Confidently implement a simple, posterior implant practice immediately post-course 

  • Create treatment plans for case selection, surgical site assessment, implant selection, biomaterials selection, and patient management
