Dr. Parel received his dental degree from The Medical College of Virginia. He completed his specialty in Prosthodontics at the Wadsworth Veterans Administration Hospital in Los Angeles and received his Maxillofacial Prosthetics training at the M.D. Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute. He was a full professor, at the University of Texas, in the San Antonio. He has written multiple scientific articles and text books. Esthetics and Osseointegration, The SmiLine System and Esthetic Implant Restorations. He has received many awards, such as the Distinguished Lecturer and Dan Gordon Awards from the American College of Prosthodontics, and most recently received the Branemark Award for lifetime achievement in the field of Implant dentistry, the highest honor bestowed by the Academy of Osseointegration’s Foundation and The Titanium Society.
